How does treatment start?
We follow a proven process that honors each patient and their unique needs. We: Start by listening to patient concerns followed by our holistic evaluation that addresses the following: health of the periodontium, TMJ, airways/ sleep, dental health, occlusion, smile and aesthetics. Present a plan that will address patient concerns and important factors in order to achieve the tx objectives as agreed upon with the patient. In general, we believe that providing a holistic approach that will create a beautiful smile in a healthy and stable environment, (stable bite, comfortable jaw joints, proper airway)
Do adolescents need to wear metal braces?
Every case is unique, and we’ll decide the best treatment after a thorough exam and consultation. Teen aligners can address most orthodontic problems, but patient cooperation is critical to treatment success. Our providers’ experience treating teens with aligners has been very positive with compliant patients. We’re among the top aligner providers in the region (Diamond II), and we’d love to discuss your options.
How long will it take to straighten teeth?
Every case is different, and we personalize every treatment plan. Some complex cases can take more than two years to complete, but many teens enjoy straighter teeth much faster. At Kharsa Clinics, we use multiple techniques to design care that produces the best results in the shortest time.
What if I need dental treatment during orthodontics? Should I see my regular dentist?
We can complete most dental procedures during orthodontics, and we recommend regular cleanings and checkups throughout your care. At Kharsa Clinics, you enjoy all the services you may need under one roof!
Is orthodontic treatment uncomfortable?
In our practice we use the latest arch wires available in the profession, and they’re very flexible and effective. This helps minimize the discomfort depending on each patient’s pain threshold.
Do I have to wear a retainer after completing treatment?
Retention is an integral part of teeth stability after finishing orthodontic treatment. Your doctor will address the issue at the beginning of treatment. He/she will explain in detail the best retainer for you and how long you will need it. We emphasize the importance of using a retainer as the best way to keep the results achieved stable. At Kharsa Clinics, we’re amongst the few clinics in the region that follow cases for two years at no additional cost after completed treatment. This will help protect the stability of the teeth, the integrity of the retainer, and allow us to monitor the wisdom teeth.
Do I have to remove my third molars (wisdom teeth)?
Keeping or removing wisdom teeth depends on the space available for them. Your doctor will review that decision before you are done with the retention phase of your treatment.
Are appliances and materials used in your practice approved by international health authorities?
Material and appliances used in our practice are certified by the FDA, European health authority, and the Saudi FDA (SFDA). All materials used are for one-time use and sterilized to the highest standards.
What if orthognathic (jaw) surgery is needed?
Sometimes the upper and lower jaws don’t fit together correctly, and the lack of proportion changes the face's overall appearance. This misalignment may cause chewing, breathing, or speaking difficulties, too. Our experienced specialists can often guide growth and development with orthodontics. But some older patients may benefit from jaw surgery, and we partner with skilled surgeons in our trusted network.
