Most Commonly Asked Questions
My front teeth are uneven; how can I fix them?
If your front teeth are slightly different length, we may be able to shorten the longer one or lengthen the shorter one with bonding or porcelain. We analyze the overall appearance of your smile and consider the Golden Proportion, a natural law that considers the relationship between width and length. Orthodontic treatment will be indicated if the difference in length is beyond mild. Together, we’ll choose the most conservative option to create a balanced smile.
What can you do about the space between my front teeth?
Sometimes there’s a space between the front teeth, known as a diastema. If you’re happy with it and it does not increase in size over time, there’s no need for treatment. But if you’d like to eliminate it, our dentists will discuss all the possible treatments to close the gap. These options range from simple bonding, which works well in many cases. In more demanding cases, porcelain veneers and orthodontic treatment will be discussed.
My front teeth are chipping on the edges; can you fix this problem?
Several underlying factors could cause teeth chipping such as trauma, grinding, weakness of the teeth structure, and other habits like nail biting. Our experienced clinicians will evaluate possible causes and treat the teeth accordingly. In select cases, chipped teeth may just need simple shaping, polishing, and/or bonding.
How long does bonding last?
Today’s dental materials benefit from scientific advancements that provide solid and natural results. These color-stable materials may last years, but your habits affect their durability. We choose the highest-quality dental products and use proven bonding techniques for years of service.
Are bonding and shaping techniques expensive?
We can complete most minor smile refinements in a single appointment without discomfort or numbing. You may be surprised at how cost-effective it is to refine your smile with these simple techniques. An accurate estimate will be provided before starting any procedures. See our before/after cases to see how we’ve helped many patients enjoy a better smile (link to Our Smiles page).
